Everything a New Author Needs to Know About Writing and Publishing a Book!

presented by

Author & Public Speaker Edward Lopatin.

“There is a book in my head, but I don’t know how to get it out!”

This fabulous workshop is for new writers who have yet to be published.

Where there is a dream, the dreamer will find a way. Three years ago, Ed dreamed of becoming a paid professional speaker and a published author.  With his 'book in his head' Ed set out to accomplish his dream. And we're proud to report he has self-published two self-help books, “Manage Your Chronic Illness”, and “How to Survive Your Promotion.”  Ed's third book, “How to Survive Your Vacation” has just been released.

In this friendly and informative workshop, you will help you discover:

  • Why you should consider writing.
  • What you can write about.
  • The advantages and costs of publishing
  • How you can get your work published.
  • How you can find success in today’s ever-changing publishing environment.

If you are new to writing, are in the beginning stages of publishing, or would like some starting guidelines, this is the workshop for you!

Seating is limited!
Payment Registration is required.

More about this presenter:

Ed Lopatin has a Masters in Public Administration and spent most of his professional career as an executive with San Francisco City government, and retired as the City’s Juvenile Probation Department Director of Finance and Administration.

Arriving in Palm Springs eleven years ago, Ed immediately became involved in many local community organizations.  He is involved in the Toastmaster program, where he served as a regional Toastmaster Area Governor and Division Governor.

When he told one of his Toastmaster mentors that he wanted to become a paid professional speaker and an author, his mentor advised him to write a couple of books first, so that he could demonstrate he had something important to say, was focused and well organized.

Following the advice of his Toastmaster mentor, Ed did everything he could to learn how to get his thoughts on paper, and to publish a book.  He joined the Palm Springs Writer’s Guild, attended numerous workshops for writers and speakers, and hired literary consultants to assist him. The rest is history.

Workshop will be held at:

Mission Hills Country Club,

"Fifty-Fifth Room"

34-6000 Mission Hills Road,

Rancho Mirage, CA
