Entry Fee: $25.00 (Additional entries $20.00 each)

Entry Rules:

If you fail to comply with the rules you will be disqualified. Disqualified applicants and non- winners are not reimbursed application fees.

All members must login to enable registration and complete the short story online application.

1. Each submission must be accompanied by a contest entry form. CLICK HERE FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM

2. Online Submission only! Submit stories as Worddocument(s). Any other file format will be disqualified.

3. Format: double-spaced, 12 point, Times Roman or Times New Roman font.

4. Word Count: 3,500 word maximum including title.

5. Must appear on each page:

1. Title of story
2. Page number
3. Word count of manuscript

6. Author’s name MUST NOT appear anywhere on the manuscript.

7. Short Story manuscript submissions must be an original, unpublished (print or electronic) work of fiction and an unposted, non-previous prize winner.

8. Entry fee payments via PayPal or Guest of PayPal must be paid at time of Registration/Application. *Check payments will be accepted. Mail checks to PO Box 947, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270. Checks must be received PRIOR to MARCH 9, 2015.

At contest conclusion, manuscripts will be deleted. Critique of your work will not be provided.

Step 2: After successfully completing application & payment, an automatic email will be sent with further electronic (email) instructions for story submission.

Judging:
The stories are judged on plot, setting, character development, use of dialogue, and mechanics. For reference, writers may utilize Judging Criteria Guide.

Prize List:

1st Place: $500 cash & publication of winning story in Palm Springs Life Magazine. Winning story read aloud at PSWG Membership Awards in May 2015.
2nd Place: $300 cash & winning certificate.
3rd Place: $200 cash & winning certificate.
