Insider Workshop Description:
If you are despairing about the state of your novel, take heart.  Writing is fighting.  It is time to take stock of your words, and take control of them.  Russell will talk about strategies for tweaking, massaging, gutting, and jumpstarting your novel.  Sometimes all that is necessary is a different point of view; sometimes a defibrillator; sometimes major surgery.  If your words aren’t singing, if your novel has become an unwieldy beast, if you despair of ever typing The End, have hope – there are proven methods of getting you to the literary finish line.

Insider Workshop Schedule:
1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

About the Insider Workshop facilitator:
Alan Russell is the award-winning author of sixteen mystery and suspense novels, and is an Amazon #1 bestseller.  Coast to coast critical acclaim has greeted Russell's novels. The New York Times says, "He has a gift for dialogue," while the Los Angeles Times calls him, "A crime fiction rara avis."  Publishers Weekly says he is, "One of the best writers in the mystery field today.”

Russell's novels have ranged from whodunits to comedic capers to thrillers to psychological suspense.  Some of his titles include BURNING MAN, ST. NICK, MULTIPLE WOUNDS, and THE HOTEL DETECTIVE.  His most recent novel is L.A. WOMAN.

A native Californian and long-time resident of San Diego County, the 6’ 7” Russell is a former college basketball player who these days can barely touch the rim. The proud father of three children, Russell is an avid gardener and cook, and fortunately is blessed with a spouse who doesn't mind weeding or washing dishes.
