Description:
Whose head are we in?
Point of View (POV) is the lens through which your story is recorded. In this writing lab, we’ll discuss a few popular types of POV, and how to write around the most limiting one. You will discover which POV is best suited for your author’s voice. We will also examine the benefits and pitfalls of multiple points of view, and how to keep your reader oriented.
Deep POV reflects a profound knowledge of your characters and their world-view. We will discuss gender, education, class, ethnicity, and other factors that can influence language and deep POV. You’ll discover how to use dialogue, inner dialogue, and metaphors to reveal Deep POV, enhance your story, and increase your readers’ engagement.
