November Meeting: "From the Flight Deck to Best Sellers"

Presenter: George Galdorisi, NY Times best selling author

George Galdorisi is a career naval aviator whose thirty years of active service included four command tours and five years as a carrier strike group chief of staff. He began his writing career with an article in the U.S. Navy’s professional magazine, Naval Institute Proceedings. He has written fourteen novels and non-fiction works published by mainstream publishers as well as over 400 articles in national and international professional journals, magazines and newspapers, has won a number of international writing awards, and leads writing seminars throughout Southern California.

With his longtime collaborator, Dick Couch, he coauthored the New York Times best seller, Tom Clancy Presents: Act of Valor, the novelization of the Relativity Media number-one rated movie.  He is also the author of The Kissing Sailor, which proved the identity of the two principals in Alfred Eisenstaedt's famous photograph. Coming off four consecutive New York Times best-sellers (Tom Clancy Presents: Act of Valor as well as three Tom Clancy Op-Center thrillers – Out of the AshesInto the Fire and Scorched Earth) he has embarked on a new series of Rick Holden thrillers published by Braveship Books. George Galdorisi joined the US Navy for excitement. He will share some life experiences as a Naval aviator, and his advancement to the rank of Captain. His background includes years of flying helicopters, seeking to close down drug operations on the ground in Colombia, and negotiating with members of the Chinese military to establish protocols for communication between vessels of the two nations. He began writing early, eventually teaming with the Tom Clancy people in penning best sellers. He is currently continuing to write his own series of military-based thrillers featuring CIA Operative Rick Holden and Naval Intelligence Officer Laura Peters. His presentation is sure to be interesting and inspiring.
