Announcing our next In-Person Workshop
You Wrote the Book. Why Aren’t We Listening to It?
By: Dominique Fruchtman

Dominique Fruchtman became an audiobook narrator during COVID after listening to enough poorly narrated books to think, “I can do better.” She studied voice and narration for three months before recording her first title. Her work appears on Audible under Dominique Fruchtman and, for steamier stories, Naomi Stone.
Presentation Overview
In this fun, interactive workshop, writer/audiobook narrator Dominique Fruchtman will demystify the process of turning words on a page into a performance. Starting with a brief excerpt from an audiobook she recorded, she will illustrate why audiobook narration is so much more than simply reading aloud.
She will explain practical options for getting a book onto Audible, and explain the three different arrangements for getting your book onto audible, one of which costs you nothing up front.
Can you record your own book? Maybe! Dom will record several live demos, maybe of you! After 30 seconds of coaching, audience volunteers will perform brief passages from their own work, mistakes and all. Then, you’ll see/hear how fast editing can transform a first attempt into a polished recording you can be proud of.*
